General Surgery Residency
At General Surgery, our mission is to train skilled surgeons through a comprehensive, ACGME-accredited program that emphasizes diverse surgical experience and clinical excellence.

Didactics
Every Thursday mornings, residents have protected time to attend conference. SCORE curriculum is incorporated through faculty and resident run lectures. Conference includes weekly oral board practice, M&M, and ABSITE review questions. We also have simulation labs covering bedside procedure, endoscopy practice, and operative techniques.
Journal Club
Monthly journal club gatherings, held during sponsored dinners, provide residents and attendings an opportunity to collaboratively discuss one to three articles centered on a specific topic as an integral part of our training.
Radiology Conference
Quarterly at Olympia Fields we meet with the radiology residents to review interesting cases.
GI Conference
Annually, we have a multi-disciplinary conference with our GI Fellows and attendings
Living in Chicago
Many residents live downtown, while others live in suburbs. Driving from downtown to Olympia Fields takes about 30 minutes; most other sites are within 20 minutes without traffic.
